(16 Jan 1964) Jem Marsh tasked Dennis and Peter Adams to design, build and develop what became the Marcos 1800 - a new sports car which combined laminated marine ply-wood with an outer shell of glass fibre. It's one of the fastest Grand Tourers of its time, under two litres, with a top speed of around 130 mph. Controls are adjustable to suit drivers of well over six feet.

Epic Mini Marcos and Lotus Elan Battle

The cars of the Goodwood Revival's Fordwater Trophy in 2019 might have been quite small, but that did not mean that the action was any less exciting than the big GT cars racing in the RAC TT. The highlight of this awesome race was this amazing battle between a Mini Marcos – in the hands of Goodwood legend Nick Swift – and a Lotus Elan – raced by Robert Barrie. It's not often that a Lotus Elan looks like the big-engined brute, but being pitched against the little Mini Marcos does just that. As the Mini catches through the corners, the extra power of the Lotus pays down the straights. Can Swift find a way through?
