Second Generation Cars
In 1981 at new premises on the West Wilts trading Estate, the rather silubrius Nissan Huts, the iconic Marcos shape returned in what are known as 'Secong Generation Cras'. These were available in component form withvarious engine options: 2 Litre Ford Pinto, 3 Litre Essex V6, 2.8 Cologne V6, 1600 Crossflow, 2 Litre / 2.5 Triumph straight six, and the 2.0 Ford V4. About 30 self build cars were produced from 1982 through until 1990.
The cars were available in three stages;
Stage one comprised of the body and under trays fitted to a chassis together with boot, bonnet and doors, unpainted with glass supplied. Engine mountings were fitted to the customers specification.
Stage 2 and 3 comprised of all other items special to Marcos such as window frames, suspension items, interior trim mouldings etc...
In the main all of these cars were customer built until 1984 with the launch of the Mantula.
